Because no one could get the janitor out of the hole the school decided to just put a metal plate over the hole. So it goes. Girls would dare each other to go into the bathroom alone when nobody else was there and knock on the metal plate to see if the janitor's ghost would appear.
Sort of like a rite of passage especially among the girl scout troop at the school.

I was at Buffalo Creek two years ago just goofing around one Saturday evening. I saw a greenish transparent figure walking around. I would have normally just avoided looking at it but it had such a pitiful looking face and a tremendous large hump on it's back.
I was so scared and thought the only rational thing to do was to leave it in peace.
