In Lakeview or Boystown (W Melrose Avenue near the lake) there is a haunted apartment building. I did not believe in the paranormal before I lived here. I saw a 7-foot-tall deep black mass one night, and when I tried to get a better look at it (because I could not believe my eyes) it rushed at me. It was a terrifying moment. For weeks after I thought I was losing my mind. Then my husband saw a black mass moving through the apartment. I knew it wasn't just

me. I saw the entity a couple more times, but it was never as large or threatening.
The apartment always felt dark to me, and I often felt like

we were being watched, but I played it off easily. We later moved to a very old coach house in Humboldt Park, and that place felt much warmer and more homely to me.
Years after we moved out I did research on the address and did not uncover any deaths. I also messaged the property management and asked if they've ever had tenants complain or report paranormal-type incidents. They confirmed they had, so I was not alone! If you've ever experienced
