My mom grew up in Chicago. When she was about 13 her and her family moved into a new home and one night she woke up from a bad dream and went into the living room to sit on the couch and wait for her dad to come home.
Her dad worked late at nights and it was around 2 am. Suddenly she heard her front door open and slam, she looked over thinking it was her dad but no one was there. Than she saw the door open again and slammed again.

She looked outside the window of the kitchen, which you could see outside, to the street. She saw an image of a teenage girl standing there, than she disappeared. The next day my mom found out that a girl had died about a year ago, she was shot and murdered in front of my mom's home.

The teenage girl had been outside looking for her little sister, who liked to hide in other people's homes because she knew everyone. My mom believes that the teenage girl was just checking her home looking for her little sister.
