My friends and I hung out in the brickyard and gone fishing at Gale Lake (especially by the lighthouse) back in late 1980s and early 90s and we heard quite a lot of stories but never encountered anything.

I have experienced similar things in that area. I lived in East Galesburg off and on for several years. My family came from there. Gale Lake is a very active area for hauntings.

I believe the light house at Gale Lake in East Galesburg is haunted. My sister and a friend of mine were around 10 years old (1980-81. ) There were a boat house and an old lighthouse on the bank of the lake, and I believe they are still there to this day. I would assume they are at least 100 years old. We used to go fishing at Gale lake by the light house. We would hear strange noises inside the boat house, and it sounded like men talking. All we could make out was mumbling and could hear what they were saying.
Sometimes you could hear the sound of tools dropping like they were working on something, but there wasn't anything in the boat house. It was completely empty. We also heard laughing and whispering coming from the lighthouse. The kids used to hang out at Otis Martin Park back in the day, and we'd play hide and go seek. Well, one night I was hiding on the corner of Miller Street and Mattson Street, and you could see the lighthouse from there. I would say it's maybe a 1/4 mile away from where I was hiding. For whatever reason I turned around and saw the spot light moving around the lake as if it was in full operation.
