This is hearsay but a friends 100 year old mother had a step mother that worked in the old photography college before it was a college. I hear it was a sanitarium before the turn of the 20th century. Anyway she said the place had a lot of odd goings on over a hundred years ago.
This led to the next topic which is a home called ''the Wilson house'' a family that she new had lived there and having sold the home were preparing to move. Sometime during the move their child asked if the man in the vent was going to be moving with them, the man that talked to him every night.

I had never heard of this place until tonight. Casbar / Ramsey is creepy. I found myself drawn to it and the caves by it when I moved here 20 years ago. I considered buying the ground that just sold to the east of it but could not talk my wife into it.

A friend bought the 15 acres and paid 100k for it which breaks down to 6667 per acre. There is a lone white cross at the w edge of the property visible from the road to Ramsey that sits on the border of the property nearest Ramsey cemetery.
Btw I get a creepy feeling from the old tree by the cemetery. I agree there is a weird energy there.

Effingham is actually a very spiritually active place. I've heard many stories about a different house on the west side across from Bliss Park (I'm not mentioning the address because the family has small children) another house I have heard many haunting stories of is a house that is located on Lawrence Street in Effingham IL.
