About 3 months or so ago my team the Mississippi River Valley Ghost Researchers the once Litchfield Ghost Trackers and I returned to the Eldred House armed with a multitude of equipment. This was an open day and there were a lot of people there.
Not all being experienced investigators. I was sitting on the back porch reminiscing about our past investigations. I heard footsteps coming up the porch. Soon a man said there sure are a lot of folks here.

I said yes there are and from all around. I looked over my shoulder to see who I was speaking with and to my surprise there was no one there. I just chalked

it up to another typical day at the James J. Eldred house.

If you are in Eldred and you happen to be a morning person I would recommend you go out right before sunrise and look up to the hill on the edge of town. You can see it from the whole town. On some mornings you can see a puff of smoke rising from the peak.
The puff of smoke is shaped like a face. You can see the eyes and mouth and the nose. It's almost as if it looks at you. Maybe some old Native American thing? I don't know. Would be fun to hear from the locals about this.
