When I was a teenager I lived on the base at Ft. Sheridan. My room was in the basement. I thought it would be cool, so I could sneak out. Haha. I would hear animal noises at night of horses. I could hear them shuffle and snort. It was faintly but noticeable. At the time it wasn't so scary. It was residual maybe but not terrifying. One night the night before Valentine's day I heard a woman humming and pots and pans banging. It was like somebody was cooking

upstairs. it was at 1 am. I went upstairs to see my mom. When I got to the top of the stairs there was nothing, except open cabinets. Last night in the

basement for me.

I usd to live in Highland Park IL. On lauretta St. Right next to ft. Sheridan. My sisters and I used to play in the ft. As kids with our friends... We would ride our bikes around the ft. At night sometimes.
The story we used to hear as kids was the lady who died I the ft. Sheridan tower. She was said to have climbed the long stair case and the higher she went the hotter it got... They say she eventually died and stll climbs the staircase to this day.
