Recently I was staying at a hotel near S. Seward Street. My wife and I travel past this area very often, but this was the first and possibly last time we would stay in this place. At around midnight when we came back from our dinner and movie we went up to our room.
As we approached our room, we could hear footsteps and what sounded like something was dropped onto the floor. We were pretty sure this was coming from our room. We started to get upset because we thought we were being robbed.

I told my wife to go get the front desk, and I would stay behind making sure the robber wouldn't get away. After my wife left the sounds stopped. Everything was quiet. The front desk personnel came to the room with my wife, and we were about to call 911 and open the room at the same time.

We opened the room and found everything to be exactly the same as we left it. There were no sign of any intruder. The front desk guy told us this wasn't the first time his guests reported something like this.
He said he would quit as soon as he found another job. We stayed only that one night and left the next morning.
