Now as for REAL hauntings, Machelle's BackStreet is indeed haunted. My grandfather Stan owned the tavern before Machelle purchased it. When he owned it there was an apartment upstairs which was always vacant. Verified by my mother.|
Footsteps and dropping objects have been heard in the ceiling for years. We went to Machelle's a few years ago and told our stories to the owner. We warned her about the basement. Not to go down there. She's been
afraid of it for years. .|

LaSalle IS historic and haunted, 9th St. is just one place I know about. Nearer to the north end of LaSalle along Illinois O'Conor and St. Vincent's Streets many strange hauntings have been happening for years and years to residents in those homes.
They range from sightings, audio, to frequent activity and attacks. I know because I personally talked to some, heard their stories from neighbors, shared stories from family members, and even experienced them myself throughout my childhood on into adulthood.
Just east of Joliet St. off Rt. 6 (near to Rt. 39) an old creepy cemetery has been known to have a few stories. Also a well known hangout (incidentally the whole surrounding area) at the west end of a neighboring city is greatly haunted.
