We live in an old house in rural Morrisonville. According to townsfolk Mrs. Palmer was pulled out of her brick house rubble after a devastating tornado in 1945. The Palmers rebuilt a house supposedly made of steel.
We now live in this house. The place seemed magical / mystical when we bought it but it's been bizarre living here. The basement door opens and closes with no one around. My husband and I were standing by the front door one day and said

we should let our dogs in who happened to be outside.
The front door opened by itself, the dogs came in and the door shut. We just stood there astonished

and dumbfounded. We aren't afraid here - we jokingly talk of Mrs. Palmer. If it's her or whoever she's nice.
Our pet sitter was here one day in the summer when it was stormy. She says that a tornado was headed for our place and she watched it approaching. As it got close to our backyard - it just disappeared! That was where the old house used to be! After moving in we've heard from many neighbors that the kids in town drive by to see our house
