I grew up off Milwaukee Avenue in Niles. I would wake up as a child and see a man in black with a dog by his side. I was petrified! It happened a few times, but as I got older I never saw them again. I still think maybe I was dreaming. I don't know.

This is the same Will that wrote the most recent Niles entry about the ''Best Buy House'' as well as one before it under the pseudonym Rian. I just come bearing updates regarding the area. For those unacquainted, it's an empty lot at the eastern end of Elm Drive on the DP border, adjacent to Best Buy and parallel to Golf Road, Greenwood (between Drive and Avenue), and until last summer a house stood there, infamous to anybody districted to Maine East for its creepy demeanor.

In short summation, my friend from the last entry had a relative do some digging and found out something about the owner of the house, or at least the last legitimate one. The guy liked himself some occultist stuff, and pretty much made his own home haunted. This is why the land retains an aura of evil now that the house is gone (and the unknown current owners aren't doing anything with the land. ) In any case, the man killed himself, intentionally or otherwise, via carbon monoxide poisoning in the basement. The exact date of this is unknown, but it was before the turn of the new millennium. I feel so bad for the neighbors.

My name is Will, a friend of mine Christian was going to investigate a property on Elm Drive. and felt a radiating evil about the place; the friend who had given him the ride started freaking out and had to speed away from the area after becoming physically ill.
Returning the next afternoon anticipating a ghost hunt later that night he discovered that the house was gone. The best buy house is gone. Now Christian was there the night before and after the demolition.
