This actually occurred in Marquette Heights, IL. It happened when I was around 14 years old, so this was about 10 years ago. For those who are not familiar with the geography of Marquette Heights, it is a small residential neighborhood built on top of abandoned coal mining routes, surrounded by woods, and was once populated by Native Americans. (Several artifacts have been discovered in the woods over the years. )

I looked up from where I was sitting to one of the small basement cinder block sized windows on the side of our house, and I saw a young boy staring back down at me.
