As we got closer the cars headlights seemed to startle him. He moved a bit farther to the side of the road and shook his fist at us. The strangest thing was that he seemed to be floating about a foot off the ground just as the other witnesses wrote about here.
We were not about to stop because he scared us so much! I seem to recall an article many years ago in a local paper covering the ''giant ghost of 5 mile creek'' near Saunemin. A farmer who owned

land on 5 mile creek told of many times when he saw the giant ghost.
I believe there was also a report by some law enforcement officer when he

and several other people saw a giant ghost man by one of the bridges over 5 mile creek during a picnic in a grove of oak trees one day.

I have heard stories of the Saunemin giant for years. I was once driving over a little bridge on 5mile creek and saw him on the edge of the area where the land drops off steeply into the creek. This was just a short ways from 5mile cemetery.
