slammed behind me, and it just stopped. The house became very quiet. It was too quiet, so I ran out of the house, and till we moved out I would never be in the house by myself ever.
Years later my mom told me all that noises and sounds I heard she also heard them too all her life. My aunt would see the same lady in the black dress dancing. She said she just didn't want to scare me. She also told me that the house was once a saloon. Submitted

I'm a freight conductor, and I've never believed in ghosts. I was working last year in the West Chicago Train Yard near the downtown area where Highlake Road dead ends. It was dark out, but with yard lights and my lantern it was clear enough to see things around you. I was half way to the end of my train walking in the wooded area listening to my radio and the crunching of the rocks underneath my boots. All the sudden I just got this WEIRD feeling I can't describe that something was in my peripheral view left side in-between the auto rack cars. A guy dressed in thirties-styled clothes scared the hell out of me and asked if it was ok to cross through my train!
I've come across homeless people, even entire families a few times traveling in our boxcars a few times in my time, but this was completely different. I yelled at him, said something like ''what the beeep! Are you doing out here and get the beep! OUTTA here!'' I was backing up with my lantern pointed at him calling the yard master saying there was a trespasser. He went into the woods apologizing as he disappeared completely! He was as real as real could be, and yet he just vanished wearing clothes from almost a hundred years ago.
I've never told anybody of that, and the yard master just ended up driving the yard jeep back there to get me to head end of train while scoping the area. It turns out that there are quite a few unmarked graves where they'd bury deceased hobos that occasional came in the yard sometimes, which I guess was common for such a big freight hub of the time. So happens there are common sightings at night of trespassers in the yard in the same area, and NONE are ever physically taken in. I dunno? Just odd and had to share it with the few.
