I am a scientist and really never thought I would believe in ghosts. That was until I saw one last night. I was staying with a friend this week. In the middle of the night I woke up to an apparition of some sort hovering next to the bed. The room was totally dark except this bright spot of light (approximately 3 feet tall and 1 foot wide). I opened my eyes and looked straight at it and sat up in bed. It was less than 2 feet away from me. When I sat up it moved

over to the door which was shut and stayed there for about a minute. I grabbed my phone on the night stand and turned on the flashlight. Then it disappeared.

got up to get a drink of water and try to calm down. I inspected the room for the potential of it being a reflection from something, but there was no mirror or light in the room of any kind. I was definitely freaked out. I asked my friend in the morning if she had seen this and she said she has not although her child has claimed to have seen things in the past. I have no explanation for this experience. I may have to reevaluate what I believe in.
