I grew up right there where those two roads merge. I never heard anything like that and never had anyone else mention it either.

Out on the edge of Winnebago there is a trail locals call a prairie path. Rumor has it people were hung by an old railroad bridge, and if you drive out there around 3 am and stay till around 4 am, you will hear some pretty scary things like, a woman screaming and other strange things like something pounding on metal and the sound of a taut rope.

If you would like to witness this, drive west on mcnair/comly Rd in Winnebago and keep driving. It's the first road you come upon on the right. Happy haunts.
