On the corner of South Avenue and Lawrence Street in Emporia there used to sit an old green house. It was the only one on the block. My best friend and I rented it back when I was sixteen years old, about twenty years ago. While clearing off some of the weeds I found a tombstone in an area between the house and South Avenue. I only remember one name from it, Howard. I am not sure if it was last name of first. I can't remember. This house was so old

that some of the many doors still used a skeleton key.
The following is some phenomena I experienced at that house. I heard footsteps on the second

floor and stairs. Doors that were locked would sometimes fling open with a loud bang as it hit the wall. Our names were called. We have seen figures in the first and second story windows when no one was there. Doors would be opening or closing in front of other people upon asking Howard to make his presence known to others.
