I lived at Fort Riley from 1974 to 1978. Our Home was on main post on Sheridan Avenue right before the old trooper statue. Our home was about five houses before you get to the Custer house. Our house was just fine, but now and then you'd hear some things that you thought were odd. From time to time I would hear what sounded like boots with spurs walking up the main stair case from the front entrance.

home so late. He had no idea what I was talking about, and honestly it really didn't happen very often. My dad actually heard them one night and thought

it was me as I had a horse at the Fort Riley stables where I rode. Whomever it was I guess just liked us. Also every once in a great while we would hear what sounded like galloping horses on the parade field behind old trooper. The old historical officers' quarters on main post have a story to tell.
