Comment by Shelby: The sugar mill is now demolished. A rear wall collapsed in 2019 and was promptly torn down and removed from Kansas historical landmarks list. The lot is now occupied by a building labeled ''T&T''.

My great-great grandparents built a house after they got married. They built their house, started making a family, and the house has been passed down ever since. About 3 years after my grandpa died, I went and stayed with my grandma.

My grandparents both smoked, but grandpa smoked a different brand than my grandma. Grandpa would stay up late, finishing his coffee, smoke a ciggarette and then head to bed around 2 am. After falling asleep in my grandma and grandpa's bed, I woke up because I couldn't breathe.
It smelled just like my grandpa's cigarettes and when I looked at the clock it was almost 3 am. But what really made it weird was that it felt like there was a weight on my chest, and I could not get up.
After squirming for a minute, they weight lifted and the fan turned off.
