Old Grace Hospital that is now Hutchinson Lofts apartments is definitely haunted. I lived there from when the apartments opened in 2011 until Feb of 2014. During that time there were many strange and some quite frightening experiences.
First thing when I was moving in, I would notice boxes being moved. When I return to the apartment from my other residence. One heavy box filled with cookware was placed directly in front of the front door, and could hardly get in the apartment. That same night while trying to sleep I distinctly heard the refrigerator door open and shut in the kitchen a few times and what sounded like someone rummaging through things. I was terrified thinking somebody had gotten into my apartment! I got up to investigate and found the front door locked tight, and nobody had gotten in. I then found my cell phone in the refrigerator! It had been in there just long enough for the screen to fog a bit, and the back was still warm.

One afternoon my front door and the handle began to shake violently as if someone was desperately trying to get it. I nearly dropped from fright. I ran to the door, unlocked it, and ripped it open to confront whoever was playing around only to find nothing but a silent hallway and stairwell. Elevator wasn't running either. No one could have run away that fast between the time the door shook, and I yanked it open.

There were shadows that floated up the stairwells. The elevator had a life of its own. There were strange noises that weren't the neighbors. Blankets were pulled off my bed. There were many odd and disturbing goings on in the almost 4 years I lived there. Nothing bad, just very unnerving. In a place where so many had passed away, been born, and worked in nearly 100 years before it became apartments I guess it's only natural to expect the unexpected and spooky.

Comment by Amanda: I always wondered about that place. I Haven't lived there but a friend of mine did. To me the atmosphere was always heavy and oppressive despite the beautiful renovation. It seemed odd and I never liked going in there. Now I know why.
