I was eleven years old when my parents moved our family of five into an old two-story on First Street. It was the first home my parents were buying, and not renting. This was around 1974. The house was a fixer upper and needed a lot of love with three bedrooms and one bathroom located on the second floor. It had a descent sized living room, large dining room, and kitchen on the street level, but the basement was enormous with an old style nonworking furnace,

coal shoot, and the modern day furnace and water heater.
Then there was the walled up room with a crawlspace that let you see into the room. Inside

were at least three metal beds with boxes stacked on them. My father said that us kids didn't need to mess around with that room. He said it was just someone's old trash. Back then my brother and I shared a room, while my sister had the largest room and freedom to decorate it to her teenage heart's content. This was the stage when she went from the Osmonds to Alice Cooper. Much too my folks' horror. She was given the large closet in the hall way
