I was stunned because the exact same thing used to happen to me; I remember feeling hesitant to walk past that one spot and would hurry up and run to the bathroom just to get past that one area of our home.
The strange thing is that as kids we never told one another, it simply came up many years later in adult hood. I once saw? A head peak into our doorway one night during a lightning storm and I did tell my brother then, but he simply said it

was probably dad checking in on us, but I doubt it because I could sense it was not our father looking in; so I never spoke of it again - this happened

on the opposite side of the heating unit room across the doorway to our bedroom.
Well, I suppose that's life in Junction City.
