As we all know Norton is fairly old, especially the downtown area. Most of the businesses downtown have basements that connect to other businesses. If you ever visit any of these, you will learn that when they stopped being used they were filled with tons of old junk and rotten boxes. In most of these boxes you might be able to find old letters and pictures or postcards. I was working with the construction crews that were redoing the downtown when I

found one of these.
It was nothing but a few pictures and maybe a couple of old advertisements. What really got me was the picture of two boys

standing by the buildings when it looked to be like a grand opening of some type of store. I thought ''wow, that is cool'' and set it aside to finish my job and take it with me later. As I was continuing to clear out junk, I started to smell smoke. I looked around when I saw that the picture had caught fire. I stomped the fire out, a little freaked out, and began my way to the stairs where I could see light of the upstairs world.
