Moving out of village at Lionsgate in Overland Park. Doors open and close by itself. Plates and dishes being rattled at night. Objects disappearing and reappearing in weird places. Very happy to be moving out. Submitted by Tina

I went to Valley View Elementary School in Overland Park, KS until it closed in 1985. There were actually 3 schools. The first one was a one-room white wood building that burnt down to the ground after the wooden stove in the school house caught fire. (No one was hurt. ) The first building was at 95th and Antioch. That building was replaced down the street on 95th Street with a 2-room school building, and later the big school was built behind it. The school was open for over 115 year as one of the first schools in the area.

Every morning we would pass the 2-room school house to get to the bigger school that we had class in. The 2-room school was always locked, but we loved to look through the windows to see what the school house looked like inside. There was a water fountain at the front of the school house in the hallway between the classrooms. When we looked in through the front door the water fountain was running for no reason, and the front door was locked. The water to the building was also turned off. We also saw a woman in a very long dress with puffed up sleeves and brown hair pinned up always carrying books. Sometimes we saw her cleaning the chalk boards. The school house was torn down after the Catholic school bought the property.

I went to Queen of the Holy Rosary School. At the time the school was so full that the 3rd and 4th grade classes were held in the classrooms below the church. In the girls' bathroom, the 3rd bathroom stall would always moan when you flushed the toilet. There was a couple of time we turned off the light, and there was an orb over the stall. Needless to say, we very rarely used that toilet. (There was a rumor that a nun died in the bathroom, but when you are 3rd grade it was mostly like a good ghost tale.) The church was also fairly old, so there is no telling why that toilet moaned, and we were never able to explain the orb. Submitted by Dawn
