I grew up in Wichita off 13th and Woodlawn in a house that was built in the 1960s. Strange things happened in that house all the time. Lights that were turned off only moments ago would be turned back on, and the TV would turn off and on by itself. The dining room light would flicker only when the family was sitting down to eat together. We had our electricity and cable checked, and there was nothing wrong with the wiring or anything.
There were 4 of us growing up in the house, and each one of us kids experienced something. Whenever we would go up or down the stairs, it always felt like someone was watching us from the hallway. None of us liked the upstairs where we slept at all because it always felt like there was a presence there. Sometimes I would hear a woman's voice call out my name as if she was in the same room as me. I'd turn around, and there wouldn't be anyone there, and nobody was in the house but me.

Other times my brother and I would see a little boy about our age in a sailor outfit watching us. He'd never say anything. He'd just stand there and stare. My sisters remember seeing a man staring at them through the backyard window before he disappeared. They swear it was my dad who just seconds later came out of the bedroom door on the other side of the house. I don't know much about the history of the house, but I often wonder whatever became of the little sailor boy and the woman who would call out my name.

I never believed in ghosts until I lived in a house with my newlywed wife early 2000. We got the house for a steal. It has been occupied for some time. It was near Auburn Hills in west Wichita, a section called Maple Hills. It is been there a long time. I used to always do this after brushing her, black mask creeping up the stair. I finally quit sitting there. One night me and my ex-wife were watching TV, and I saw it coming. I bolt out of my chair. She said I know ''I've seen it too.'' We only live in that house for 6 months. I never believed in ghosts before, and that changed everything.
