As I walked down the wooden sidewalk, I felt like I was in a western. It was so cool. I passed a pottery place, a little store where people could buy drinks and get snacks, even sandwiches. No beer was allowed in the town. If you wanted beer the actors would have to drive fifty miles to the nearest place that sold beer. Across the street was a restaurant, and that was about all of it. Some were other stores, but I cannot

recall; I was young. One night I was walking back to the place where we had our own rooms, and I was walking alone when I heard a woman crying. The sound

came from the restaurant which was closed. My peripheral vision saw a woman sitting on some steps that were there, but no door was seen. The next day I was walking to the truck to go out and perform. I looked at the steps, and they had somehow built over the door area, and I wondered why they had removed the door. But I just forgot about it and went to perform in several little towns around Arrow Rock, Missouri.
A week or so later I was again walking
