Comment by Chris: I know that building down from Van Dyke's and I've been trying to find out about it. Does anyone know what was ever there or who owns it?.
Comment by Shirley: I lived building in 1981, and yes it is very haunted. Ruth and Willie lived there for years, and Ruth's mother lived there also. Laxtons lived there and many more. I was raised in the old hotel right beside it which has been Orval and Marge's home after we moved out of it in 1977. Westbrooks owned it back in the 80s. I don't know who owns it today. I see the building is still standing though. It used to be a theater years ago in the front part of it.
Comment by Josh: I used to also live in Ellsinore and in fact my grandparents lived in the house behind the old hotel. I can tell you from experience that the old Joplin farm house out on K highway is also haunted. My room was in the basement and I got shoved out of my bed one night.
I always felt unwelcomed and like I was being watched all the time in that basement.

In Ellsinore MO there is a cemetery on V road past the bridge. It's your first turn on the left right after the bridge. Try to visit this place more than once because things only really happen the second time you go.
This place is well known for walking black figures floating orbs and light moving. If you want to scare your half to death this is the place to go. I have been there numerous times and not once have I been disappointed! =D .
