Northwest of Jasper just east of the 50th and 85th roads is a big two story house that's falling down. The family that lived there have been gone a long time but they still wonder the house and property. There have been several people who have voices both in and around the house.
Sometimes there's a light shining from the house even through the boarded up windows or roaming the fields and outbuildings.

Two miles south of Jasper off old 71 Hwy 1/4 of mile on Pine Road next to the train tracks is an old homestead that's been abandoned as long as I can remember. The old place is guarded by a ghost dog. It's huge. It's only seen at night along the road or the tracks. Legend has it that its owner died 70 or 80 years ago in the house, and the dog had to be shot so people could get to the body. But its ghost still stands guard.

3/4 of a mile west of Jasper on the hwy at the first curve it's a really sharp drop down to Northfork river. If you look over the edge you will see the old iron bridge that used to be the main crossing.
There were a lot of wrecks. That's why they changed the road and built a new bridge further west. A lot of people have seen eerie sights of ghost cars crossing the old bridge and crashing into the river below or heard strange screams and brakes squalling.
