I was driving home about 11 pm. As I crossed the bridge at Van Cleve on route 33 between Meta and Dixon, in the field on the right I caught a glimpse of a figure sitting on the ground. The figure rose up and seemed to glide across the road. It startled me so much that I almost hit the bridge railing. As I passed it, it seemed to scream at me.

I was doing clean up at the old St. Mary's hospital that is now closed when my mop bucket moved across the floor by itself. I stood there in disbelief. The air started to get cold, and I got goose bumps. It was late at night, and I was by myself on the third floor. I thought I heard a child's voice and a faint laugh. I dropped the mop and ran down the hall towards the elevator. While waiting for it to come up a small child appeared in the corner of the landing. As the elevator door opened, the child disappeared.

Comment by Gloria: You're right about St. Mary's. It's haunted. My husband is afraid of working late. He has told me some stories that make my hair stand on end. So many people died there.

I had to lock up a business across the street from 120 E. Dunklin. It was 3 am. I glanced across the street and saw a person standing in front of the building. The person turned around and walked through the brick wall and disappeared. I almost screamed but caught myself and went to my car. I am afraid to work late at night and make all sort of excuses to get out of it.
