I live very close to the old Hab Center. When the grounds were still open but the center was empty I walked the grounds frequently with my dog. In one of the older buildings that are empty I many times saw a little boy with disabilities who would wave from an upper story window.|
I would feel a sense of sadness until I started waving back. Also in the windows of the long hallway I often saw residents and staff shadows walking back and forth even though
the building is empty.|

When I was a child I lived at a house on South Jefferson Avenue in Marshall. My bedroom was upstairs. One night during a lightning storm the lightning flashed and lit up the room. In that split second that the room was lit up, and I saw a figure standing on the elevated floor going into the walk in closet. I was so terrified. I couldn't even scream. When the lightning flashed again the figure was closer. It was close enough for me to see a facial expression. The look was an indescribable mixture of contempt and evil. That split second seemed to last an eternity. I found the courage to run downstairs practically jumping down the stairs and ran screaming into my parents' bedroom.
I told them what had happened, and my dad trying to be supportive but not believing me just said ''ohhh. '' My mom, on the other hand, was not amused that I woke her up and demanded I go back to sleep. I crawled in bed with them. The storm continued through the night, and I couldn't sleep after what I'd witnessed. Dad stayed up with me. I was beginning to doubt what I had seen with my own eyes.
However what happened next removed all doubt. A burst of lightning flashed, and light filled the room, and there standing in the doorway leading to the basement was the same figure. My dad grabbed me and drew me closer instantly. He threw the light on and with a ghastly white horrified look on his face yelled ''what the hell was that?'' It was then that I knew what I saw. Whatever it was was not of the earth or of the material realm. I've had nightmares about that house ever since.
