My Grandmother told me about the Lady in Pink. She had a few experiences with her. My grandmother worked at the hab center. She worked there for over 20 years. She told me about this in the 80s when I was about 8 or 9 years old. She said the history of the Pink Lady was that it was a young patient who died when the hab center was first used and that she was either buried in a pink gown or nightgown.
Her first experience was that she had stepped out of one of the homes to have a cigarette, and when she looked upstairs she saw one of the clients leaning outside of a second story window looking down at her. She told the client to go back to bed. After my grandmother finished her cigarette and went inside she asked one of the other CNAs if the client had returned to her room. The woman had seen nobody, and so my grandmother checked on the clients, and nobody was wearing a pink gown.
The second experience she had heard from another employee. Apparently in one of the group homes a woman had been working and a closet door opened. She closed the door and walked away. A few minutes later the door opened again, and a wheel chair came out. The woman apparently quit.
My grandmother always told me she believed that the spirit was a benevolent spirit and that each time someone witnessed the Pink Lady that a client in that home would pass on. Her theory was that the Pink Lady helped ease the passing of the clients.

Comment by Kay: I also worked at the Hab Center. I worked night shift. One night I was doing charting and heard a noise on L2 South Hall. It was coming from the room by the kitchen area. I went to check, and the closet door was open, and there was diapers on the floor. I knew my customers could not have done it. I do believe it was the Lady in the pink dress that carried a briefcase. It gave me the chills. .
