that he had such a terrible feeling that he thought he might find the kids all dead inside. I have never known either my ex husband or my son to ever be afraid of anything.

At Phelps Grove Park in Springfield there's a legend of the bride ghost you can see under the bridge. I've never seen her but one night hoping to see her I noticed an older man standing with a dog. He was wearing kind of raggy clothes and he was staring at the ground.
I drove by and stopped but he and the dog never looked up at me. They were right in front of the church. I went down to the next driveway, turned around and they were gone. I drove around looking for the man and the dog but they were nowhere to be found.
There's no way they could have gotten that far in a few seconds, it took me maybe 20 seconds to turn around and the driveway was beside the church, they had just disappeared literally. I've never believed in ghosts but this made me a firm believer. I've never seen him or the dog again.
