We rented a house in Elkhorn ( 21x Main Street ). My wife and daughter were home alone one day when my wife heard our daughter screaming very loud from the kitchen. She ran to her side to find out what was wrong.
My daughter explained that an old lady at the top of the stairs was scaring her. My wife fearing someone may have entered the home called the local police who arrived very quickly. They searched the house and found nothing. They seemed to

take her very serious.
We later found out that this was a recurring call from this residence.

My mother lived in a neighborhood called Fair Meadows, all the houses were new but she believed it was the land that was haunted. Not everyone but most people in the neighborhood encountered paranormal activity.
Once my mother told me a story of when she was a child. She had a group of girls spend the night at her house; they were playing in the basement when my mom looked over she saw a devilish face. Then her friend frightened at my mothers face moved her eyes in the direction of my mother's; she saw the face. They all ran upstairs to my mom's mom's bedroom. Then when they had been laying there for a while my grandma saw the face also.
Another time my mom's neighbor's friends were making a cassette tape recording, and when they played it back after a couple seconds their voice started to fade and another voice came over theirs. You could still hear their voice but the other voice was chanting Mary Joe Mary Joe Mary Joe which was their mother's name.
