When I was nine years old ( I am 59 now) my parents took us on a vacation to Fort Wayne, IN from California to do visit my mother's family. My parents could not afford to fly 6 people to Fort Wayne, so we drove in my parents station wagon. Mom and Dad took turns driving, and us children played and slept in the back of the station wagon; way before seat belts, and we would stay at motels or they would drive all night. to Omaha around 11:00 pm, driving through a pretty good summer electrical storm, lightning, thunder and quite a bit of rain. Being that my mom was from

Fort Wayne and used to these kinds of storms, she offered to drive so that my dad could take a nap. I traded places with my dad so he could lay down in the big back seat. I got into the front seat to keep her company. I felt pretty special because I got to be up late with my mom. We probably drove for about an hour to hour an half when my dad woke up. He leaned over the middle of the front seat with his arms resting on the top of the seat. Remember
