Before Belleville and Havana consolidated their school districts Belleville's school was housed in a lovely brick building on Grand Avenue. That building has been abandoned for years, but most of the old campus is still used for the current Western Yell County Elementary. One of these areas is the ''Strip Mall,'' a row of five classrooms that are essentially a separate building. The Strip Mall is directly behind the old Belleville School building and is

connected to the preschool, special Ed classroom, and cafeteria by a covered walkway.
I teach two classes a day in the last classroom of the Strip

Mall. I've felt uneasy in this room since the first day I entered it, and because of that I've never spent much time there.
For months I have heard strange noises and have seen the bathroom lights flicker. I'd find the door open when I'd left it shut or see the bathroom lights on when I knew I'd turned them off. All of that was easy to explain away; it's an old building, after all, and the air conditioning vent is right by the bathroom door. All of those
