Me and my friend were chilling out by the closed AFB around midnight. We were interested in the closed hospital nearby which had been closed since 1992, and the power was also cut to it, so when we got there, it made no sense that there was a light on it at 12 a.m. of all times, so of course I got freaked out, and we drove off. Then something hit the car like it was thrown or something. Anyway, it was just freaky, I guess.

In the early '80s I was stationed at Blytheville Air Force Base but chose to live in town with a buddy of mine. There were unusual things that went on in that house, though we never felt scared to threatened.

1. On Oct. 17, 1982 we got off work at the base at 11 p. M. , and made a stop at a friend's house in neighboring Gosnell. The occasion was a surprise birthday party for me. About an hour into the party, I left and went home to change out of my uniform.
Just before leaving to go back to the party, I realized that I had left the lights on, so I went back in and turned them off. On the way back to the party, and unbeknownst to me, my roommate was on his way back to the house to change clothes. When he rejoined the party, he asked me why I had left all of the lights on.
2. My roommate and I had the day off so we hit the local Laundromat in town. Upon returning, we were each carrying a basket full of clean clothes. As soon as we entered the house, the radio in his room turned on. (It was not a clock-radio) I thought it was one of those radios where the on-off switch is separate from the volume control, and figured his had hit the button with his elbow, since his hands were full from carrying his laundry basket. Wrong. It was one of those switches that you have to turn by hand in order to turn on the radio and increase the volume.
