In 2008 I lived in a rental house in W. Little Rock an old house from the 30's originally from the Quapaw quarter district. (our landlord saved it from being demolished by moving it and fixing it up. ) it was late one winter night and the forecast called for snow.
My infant son was asleep in his crib and my husband was asleep on the couch in the living room. Snow flurries were starting to fall and I realized I needed to get cat food so I left to go to Walmart because I was scared we might get snowed in.

I didn't even tell my husband because I didn't think my son would wake before I got back. When I returned from Walmart I pulled up in the drive way and noticed the light was on in my son's room. I was thinking to myself that the baby had obviously woke my husband up.

I was thinking that my husband would be mad at me for not telling him I was leaving. I shut off my car and pulled the cat food out of the trunk and walked toward the house. One of the windows in my son's room actually faced the porch and I could see part of the room as I stepped onto the porch.
That's when the light in that room faded slowly off. (the fact that the light faded did not seem so odd as the room has a dimmer switch but my husband never really dimmed it slowly like that so it did strike me as unusual.
) I was shocked when I stepped into the living room: my husband was on the couch in the same position he had been in when I left and the baby was still in his crib sound asleep! I woke my husband and he swore he wasn't trying to play a trick on me.
