keep her out of town for days I too heard it! Somewhere between 2 and 3 am there it was.
Thumping, bumping, and dragging sounds. The first night I too just ignored it. The second night it was so loud that I had to find out what it was. I jumped out of bed grabbed a flashlight and a large pocket knife I had nearby and ran upstairs! I didn't see anything or anybody.
Very strange. The next morning I thought that maybe a tree was rubbing the roof

or something was falling from a tree onto the roof. No trees overhead at all. Never figured out the sound and didn't stay there much longer either.
