A woman I used to know owns an older home outside of Russellville? and I lived there with her for several months. Though she had not had an encounter at that house she confided in me that she had been visited by ghosts all of her life. A previous owner of the house had died while living there, and she said there was one room that she always had an uneasy feeling in. I came in from work one night about 3 am. She was asleep, and there was no one there but us. I proceeded to get in the shower being as quiet as I could so as not to wake her up because she had to get up for work in a couple of hours.
Her bedroom closet and the shower were next to each other separated by a wall. As I showered, I heard sounds like the front door opening and then being shut. I supposed her daughter had come home. Finishing my shower, I heard the unmistakable sound of clothes hangers sliding on the bar in the closet through the wall. I dried off, put on my shorts, stepped out of the bathroom, and started to go into the bedroom to apologize for waking her. She was sound asleep and snoring.
I went to her daughter's room, and no one was there. I looked around the house but found nothing. Whatever it was that I experienced that night it was interesting. I never saw anything in that home and no more sounds that I recall, but around that same time I had a couple of dreams in which the ghosts of two older men visited me. They could not speak and were quite timid about approaching me. I don't know what these experiences meant. I just wanted to share them.
