On the corner of Bennett Road and Conti Road is an old wooden house which is now starting to fall apart. The lady who lived in the home died when she was 94 years old around 1982. She as well as other would see and hear Native Americans' spirits around the property. She told stories of how the house was built by her grandfather over the top of the local native Indians burial ground who used to live there before they were forced to leave and go live

on the reservations.
The house was built on top to protect the remains of their ancestors in future years as promised by the grandfather when he
|
married the Native American. (I believe she was the chief's niece. ) Her heritage being a Indian was able to be lied about so that they could marry. She had lighter skin than those of her local tribe and kept her hair hidden in hats. Some of the family did excavate a small area to see if stories were true, and of course in case the stories were true, they did so respectfully.
