We were sitting on one of the benches along the walking path overlooking the river (the Mississippi River) one evening. There was another couple sitting on the bench about 50 yards away from us. We saw no one else around.
Then all the sudden we heard this scream coming from the bank of the river in front of us. Then we heard a cry. It sounded like a little girl's crying. We looked at one another. I looked at the other couple sitting one the bench.

were just talking. It seemed they didn't hear what we heard. My wife and I decided to go check it out. It wasn't late probably around 6:30 pm. We walked

towards the river and we could still hear the scream which was by that time not so loud any more.
Once we got to the bank there was no sound of any living thing. We looked around making sure there was no one was hurt or needed help. Then we heard a big splash in the water but nothing else. Very strange!.
