I live in Central and have heard many stories about Frenchtown such as devil worshipers and the Klan. One story is that there is an old lad who killed 9 cats and hanged them from the train tracks. Another one is that the devil worshipers killed a baby and threw the baby under the train track or in a creek.

I was driving down Greenwell Springs Road one night with a friend. We were going to see a movie. Right before passing the Greenwell Springs Mental Hospital my car's headlights hit an empty spot in the woods, and we saw a girl who was as white as paper. She had what looked like black make up around her eyes with her black hair in a bun on the top of her head. She was wearing a tank and a white doctor coat. My friend and I both looked at one another and freaked out. We turned around to see if she was still there, but she was gone. No person could have turned and left that fast.

In the city of Central there is a house behind La Central Plaza that is very haunted. Back in the early to mid 1990s a friend of mine lived in this house, and I visited them a lot. There were a slave quarter on the property and an old wooden store which was located at Hooper Road and Sullivan Road in the early 1900s at one time. Anyway I was told by the owner of the property that a young boy died from a dirt bike crash a while back. We would have doors open and close, lights turn off and on by themselves, and the apparition of the young boy pass the windows repeatedly.
