Back in the early 1900s there was an accident down on the river. A boat worker got his foot stuck in a rope and fell overboard. He wasn't hurt in the fall but no one noticed he fell in. He was dragged behind the boat until he became too exhausted to stay afloat and drowned. They noticed him right here on this point of the river and pulled him up. His ghost haunts the edge of the river right outside of La Place. You can see him along the river's

edge. He was from somewhere up the Mississippi and died far from his home and his loved ones in a very horrific and terrorizing manner and that might
