In Leesville, just have hwy 117, there is a tree said to once serve as a hanging tree for wayward slaves and outlaws. Many a ghost have been spotted in this area, and they continue to haunt the house that sits on the property.

I resided in on post housing when my husband and I experienced three sightings. One night, while we were sleeping in our bedroom, something awoke me. Upon my waking, my husband also awoke and we saw a man fleeing out of our room.
He went to chase him, but could not find a sign of anyone in the house. The second sighting was in the same house and it happened to me. I was speaking on the phone with my sister, when my closet door in the bedroom flew open.
