creaking as if being walked. Pictures and items for sale being thrown or moved in the night.
In the late evenings you can hear conversations from a time past. You could smell the smell of cigarettes and cigars as if they were being smoked today. You could also experience the visions of lost souls looking for family who left them behind. Be aware when you visit Logansport. Come by and say hi and feel the handshake of a cool breeze.

In the summer time in Logansport the evenings on the river seem to remind me of stories of Mark Twain when the riverboats would come up the river from Orange Texas carrying cotton and other goods. But one particular steam boat named the Hayden comes to mind of the residents of Logansport.
The Hayden is sunk in a bend north of town, a rear wheel paddle wheeler which was rare for the Sabine River and once a Confederate blockade runner in the Civil War, her decks lined with cannons and a crew of soldiers.
On one warm evening the Hayden was making a journey loaded with supplied up to Carthage Texas when it hit a snag and the boiler on board exploded killing all the crew. Her cannons still lay on the bottom of the river and have been seen when the river is low.
