When I turned back around, my brother was screaming at me and waiving his arms for me to hurry. I rode that bike like I had never ridden it before, and I passed my brother right in the turn onto Galatas Cemetery Road. We both rode our bikes like our lives depended on it.
We rode as fast as possible for about ¾ of a mile with the screams behind us getting closer and closer until we finally made it to our uncle's

house and barged inside! We made my uncle drive us home in his truck that night, and I never got caught in that area again by myself and definitely not

at dusk or later.
This happened in 1985. There was no such thing as Silk lady Lane then, but everyone I knew was very aware of not being alone after dark anywhere from the old nursery on Dummyline Road until you got off Johnson Street in town. Everyone knew and nobody did if they could help it!.
