Hi everyone. I'd like to share our story because it seems that a lot of you are interested in the story of The Silk Lady. Well my husband and I lived on the South Shore, born and raised. In 1993 we were longing for the country, so we started looking for land and found this little gem.
It was a 24-acre parcel with and old logging road. We built in 1994. Then we had the fun of figuring out a name for the road. We had a couple of ideas, but then one day we saw a picture of our road in the little local newspaper talking about the Silk Lady, so of course we had to name it Silk Lady Lane. Now our neighbor who is a long time native of Madisonville said they heard of the story when they were kids, and the way the story goes is this.

The Silk Lady was in her wedding dress because it was her wedding day, but then she got news that her husband was dead, so she jumped onto her horse drawn carriage. She was going too fast when they hit a huge hole, and the carriage flipped over. She went flying off hitting her head and died. Ever since then she has been seen still looking for him.

We have never seen her, but there are some strange things that happen every once in a while, especially photography. We gave a Halloween costume party in 2014 and several of the pictures came out with elongated orbs. It was pretty eerie. So there you have it. Hope you enjoyed the story.
