My great-grandmother who was born a slave told me there used to be ghosts of slaves in the area. Many of these ghosts found peace when slavery ended and most remaining ones faded away when discrimination gradually faded away. But there is one ghost of a slave that never went away. He is still here in NewRoads to this very day. I saw him once from my window. He was standing in my front yard, just standing there. It was scary to say the least. I thought it
