I think some areas are haunted by the ghosts of people who were very unhappy in some particular location of great sorrow or any kind of tragic event. After an old building of any kind that is haunted is torn down the haunting usually stops. Submitted by Jeanie
Comment by anonymous: Someone was killed by a train at the railroad track on Navajo Road! He was riding a motor cycle and tried to outrun the train! For many years a sign hung on a post that said train 1 cars 0.

Comment by Anonymous: My mother in law and father in law lived on Navajoe St and would always say they heard strange noises in their house. Their house is very old and built around 1920-1925.

I used to live in Altus and was involved in the community theatre. One night we heard wanted sounded like a slamming door and a baby crying in one of the offstage rooms. Also I was there one night and saw an older man very pale and in older dress; maybe 1800's to early 1900's. His eyes were wide and he didn't say anything. He disappeared within moments of my seeing him. Submitted by Christine
