We purchased and are repairing the ''old 2 story house on the west end of town'' and yes there has been many unexplainable things that more than one person has seen. Shadows, images, footsteps, movement of items. I'm not typically a believer of ghost stories but there is not anything else to explain what we've witnessed here.

I lived in Calera until 1952. During the years of 1945 - 1950 there was an old abandoned house in the west part of town that the kids in Calera all called the ''haunted house''. We made an annual visit to the haunted house on Halloween for a scary thrill of imagined ghosts.
The old gym still existed and I attended every basket ball game played by the boys of Calera High School. I remember there was not a girls basket ball team and the story was that before I came to Calera (abt.1942) the school did have a girls basket ball team and a girl had died while playing ball.
Afterwards they never had a girls team up to the time I left in 1952. But I fondly remember good times in Calera - parties for the kids in homes on Halloween and Christmas, hayrides through our Sunday school classes, bon fires and good folk.
